Garden Ornaments

Tags: Gardening

The weather here has been very summer-like (in the 80's) and it's sent me straight out into the garden ... Let's look at a some garden ornaments.

One of the birdhouses in my garden sits up high on an old chippy white column.

This pretty carved head is a detail on a garden bench that sits under a gorgeous arbor near the rose garden at the Huntington Library.

Here's a little twiggy log cabin birdhouse in my garden. It's kind of falling apart but I really like it anyway.

Looking down into the Snow White wishing well at Disneyland. Even the inside of the wishing wells are pretty at Disneyland. This one sits near Sleeping Beauty Castle with pretty roses and cottagy flowers all around. Whenever I need some good luck I toss pennies in there and think good thoughts.

About the Author

For 20 years, I was an antique dealer with an art background. Then I left that world and went back to art. So I guess you could say that now ... I'm an artist with a background in antiques. However you describe me, I like to create in many different mediums and I still get a thrill from anything with old peeling paint and the sparkle when light hits the old glass of chandelier crystals or the glint from a vintage rhinestone tiara, faded with time. Add in a dash of Paris for the Francophile in me and a little bit of Disneyland, for good measure (that place makes me happy), and there you have it ... me!
